The cost of a licence depends on how many children will be using Maths.co.uk and which licence type you choose.
How many tests are available for each year group?
For each year group, there are about 25 tests covering specific NC objectives and 3 mixed tests covering all the NC objectives for the year.
In addition, for year 6, there are 8 SATs reasoning tests and 4 SATs arithmetic tests.
Do I need to download an app?
No, you can access maths.co.uk using a web browser e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Explorer.
What devices does Maths.co.uk work on?
Maths.co.uk works on laptops and desktops as well as iPads, Chromebooks and most tablets.
Does Maths.co.uk work on phones?
No, it is not possible to access Maths.co.uk on a phone.

Complete the form and your account will immediately be created. You can follow the online prompts to help you prepare the account ready for use with your class.
Which licence should I purchase?
The type of licence needed will depend on who will be using Maths.co.uk
If you are using Maths.co.uk for the whole school, you will need the KS1 & KS2 licence.
If you are using Maths.co.uk with select year groups, you should choose the package that covers their year group e.g. a Year 2 class will need a KS1 licence or a Year 5 class will need a KS2 licence.
We have different year group sizes. How do I calculate the cost of a licence?
You can work out the cost of your licence by setting the slider to the average number of children in a year group.
Which tests are included in each licence?
The KS1 & KS2 licence gives access to all available tests (Year 1 to Year 6 curriculum).
The KS1 licence gives you access to the Year 1 and Year 2 tests.
The KS2 licence gives you access to the Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 tests including the KS2 practice SATs tests.
The Year 6 licence gives you access to the tests covering the Year 6 curriculum and the KS2 practice SATs tests.
How quickly will my Maths.co.uk account be set up?
If you register online, your account will be set up immediately - the login details will be provided on-screen at the end of the registration process.
If you request help from our customer support team, we will aim to set up your account within 24 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
Once you have ordered your licence, you will be emailed the login details for your school. Click on the ‘Log In’ button (top right corner of page).
Enter your school’s username and password and follow the online prompts to set up your account.
How do I log in?
Use the username and password provided to log in, then select your name from the drop-down menu.
If you can’t see your name, click on the ‘Click here’ link.
Why am I asked if I am a class teacher?
If you select ‘class teacher’, you will automatically be able to: create classes, set tests and analyse child data. If you aren't a teacher, tick the 'No' button; when you create your account, you will be able to choose what your account will allow you to do.
How do my colleagues log in?
Your colleagues will log in using the school username and password.
Once they have logged in, they will then be able to select their name from the drop-down menu.
How do I assign classes to my account?
Select the ‘My Children’ tab.
If your class is listed in the ‘My Classes’ table, you can claim the class by clicking on the ‘Not My Class’ button.
If your class is not listed in the ‘My Classes’ table, you can create a class by clicking on the ‘Create a new class’ link (right hand side of page).
How do I add children to my class?
During the process of creating your class, you will be given the option of adding children to your class. You can either type or paste a list of your children into the box that pops up. Alternatively, log in, click on the ‘Add my children’ button and type or paste a list of your children into the box.
How do my children log in?
Once you have added children to your class, the software will assign each child a username and password.
You can view these on the ‘My Children’ page. Your children can then log in, using these details.
Can I print off my children’s login details?
Yes, you can download a printable PDF of all your children’s login details. Click on the ‘Print children’s login details’ on the ‘My Children’ page and follow the online prompts.
I already have a licence to use Maths.co.uk. Can I upgrade to allow more children to use Maths.co.uk?
Yes, your account can be upgraded to allow extra children to use Maths.co.uk.
Please email our customer support team on support@maths.co.uk; they will be happy to help you. Your new licence will be valid for 12 months from the date you upgrade.
I have made a mistake when ordering an upgrade. What do I do?

I have a Y6 licence. Can I upgrade to a KS2 licence?
Yes, your account can be upgraded from a Y6 package to a KS2 package or a KS1 & KS2 package.

How do I change my username?
You can’t change the username yourself. If you need to change your username, please contact support@maths.co.uk and our customer support team will be able to help you.
How do I change my password?
Log in to your account and hover over the school name (top right).
Click on 'My Account' and complete the new password form.
I’ve forgotten my username/password. What do I do?
Click on the ‘Log In’ button and then click on the ‘Forgot password’ link. Enter the email address you registered with. You will now be resent your welcome email containing your details.
Can I choose the usernames and passwords for the children?
No, the children’s usernames and passwords are assigned by the maths.co.uk software and cannot be changed.
How do I edit a child's name?
Select the 'My Children' tab and click on the edit icon next to the child that you need to edit.
In the pop-up window, you can change the child's name and retain the original username or you can change the child's name and username.
How do I change the classes which are in my account?
Select the ‘My Children’ tab.
To claim an additional class, click on the ‘Not My Class’ button in the ‘My Classes’ table.
To remove a class from your account, click on the ‘My Class’ button in the ‘My Classes’ table.
How do I move children from one class to another?
Select the ‘My Children’ tab.
Select the names of the children you wish to move, in the ‘My Children’ table.
Use the ‘Assign to class’ filter.
How do I change the name of a class?
Select the ‘My Children’ tab.
Click on the edit icon next to the class you wish to edit.
Change the name and ‘Save’.
How do I add more children to my class?
Select the ‘My Children’ tab and click on the ‘Add children to a class’ button. Type or paste a list of the children that you wish to add to your class.
Select the ‘Set a Test’ tab and choose which NC objectives you wish to assess.
Next, choose whether you would like a test from the library of tests or if you would like to create your own test.
Can I view a test before I set it?
Yes, you can view a test by clicking on the test name, in the 'Choose a Test' table.
Can I create my own test?
Yes, you can create your own test using any questions available in your package.
Can I set tests for my class from different year groups?
Yes, you can set any test, for any child, provided it is included in your package.
How do I create my own test?
Select the ‘Set a Test’ tab and choose which NC objectives you wish to assess.
Choose ‘I’d like to create a custom test’ and follow the online prompts to help you create your test.
Can I choose who sits a test?
Yes, once you have chosen or created a test, you will be given the option to select which children will take the test.
Does a child have to complete the test in one sitting?
No, a child can pause at any point during the test and resume the test later.
How can I check which tests I’ve set?
In the tables on the ‘Overview’ page, you will be able to view the tests that you have set.
You will also be able to see which tests are live and which tests have been closed.
How can I check which children have completed a test?
Select the ‘Assessments’ tab.
Click on the ‘Review Report’ button next to the test.
View the gap analysis report, in the 2nd table.
How can I check which children still need to complete a test?
Select the ‘Overview’ tab.
Click on the icon (next to the ‘Close Tab’ button) in the ‘Live Tests’ table, this will list which children have not finished the test.
Can I set a test more than once?
Yes, you can set a test as many times as you would like to.
Select the ‘Assessments’ tab.
Click on the ‘Review Report’ button next to the test.
Why isn't a child's test result showing up in the reports section?
A child’s test result will only show up when they have completed a test.
My children have taken a test. Why has the tracking table not been populated?
If the tracking table is set to a minimum of 3 questions, a NC objective will not be tracked until a child has answered 3 questions on that NC objective.
How do I use Maths.co.uk to help identify gaps in my children's knowledge?
When your children have finished a test, click on the 'Assessments' tab, then click on the 'View Report' button next to the test. You will be now be able to view a graph of your children's results and quickly identify gaps in their knowledge.
How does Maths.co.uk help inform my planning?
Each assessment report provides a detailed breakdown of which questions each child got correct or incorrect. This can inform a teacher’s planning and help identify individual targets for children.
How do I use Maths.co.uk to help me identify individual targets for a child?
Click on the ‘Tracking’ tab and choose the individual child by using the ‘Children' drop-down filter at the top of the table. You will now be able to see how the child is performing against each NC objective. This information will help identify gaps in the child's knowledge, which can then be used to identify individual targets for the child.
Can I change the way the tracking works?
Yes, on the ‘Tracking’ page, you can choose your tracking colours. You can choose from: 3 Colours, Target Tracker or Classroom Monitor.
You can also change the minimum number of questions a child has to answer, before a NC objective starts being tracked.

Can I track a year 6 child against year 5 NC objectives?
Yes, you can choose to track your child against any NC year objectives. The tracking table is populated using data from assessments that children have completed on Maths.co.uk. If you switch 'Year Group Tracking' to OFF, you will be able to choose which NC year objectives you wish to track them for.
How can I access data for more than one class?
You can access data for any class that you have claimed.
I’ve accidentally deleted some children. Can I retrieve the data?
No, once children have been deleted, you cannot retrieve the data.

How long do you store test data?
Test data will remain in your account until either the child has been deleted or the account expires.
When a child is deleted from your account, all data for that child is deleted including test data.
Data in expired accounts may be deleted at any time. You can request that the data is deleted immediately if required.
Once you have added children to your class, the software will assign each child a username and password. You can view these on the ‘My Children’ page. Your children can then log in, using these details.
How can a child see which questions they answered correctly in a test?
When a child has finished a test, they can go to the ‘Finished Tests’ table.
If they click on ‘View Results’, they will be taken to the test - correct answers will be green, incorrect answers will be orange.
How can a child check the correct answer for a question?
When a child has finished a test, they can go to the ‘Finished Tests’ table.
If they click on ‘View Results’, they will be taken to their test.
At the bottom of each question, they can view the answer that they gave (My Answer), they can also view the correct answer by clicking on the ‘Correct Answer’ button.
Does a child have to complete the test in one sitting?

The test will stop and it will stay unfinished, in the ‘Live Tests’ table.

You may find that using a greyscale tool is an effective solution. It is free to use and available in a number of browsers.
