When children complete a Y2 standardised maths test, their scores are standardised nationally against other children taking the same tests at the same time using live test data – so it’s as accurate as you can get. In the Summer term (2024), almost 30,000 scores were used for standardising.
When a child finishes a Year 2 standardised maths assessment, the questions are instantly marked and a raw score is calculated. This is a considerable time saver – no marking and no uploading of data! Each Year 2 child also receives a standardised score and an attainment level too – Working Towards, Expected Standard and Higher Standard.
